IB Theory of Knowledge Teacher

Key Responsibilities:
– Teach the Theory of Knowledge (TOK) course in both English and Chinese in accordance with the International Baccalaureate (IB) curriculum framework.

助理学部主任 Assistant Division Leader

Executive Summary:
Under the overall mission, vision and strategic plan of school, the ADL is supporting DL to be responsible to the overall quality of the education and the holistic development of student within the division, by leading a team of coordinators to provide the best guidance and support needed by students, teachers and tutor.

Description of Role:

  1. Adhere school’s overall vision, mission, core values and strategic goals
  2. Support DL to leads DCs & FCs to achieve division objectives and ensure the effective operation of the division
  3. Support DL to be responsible for:
    • the academic outcome,development and wellbeing of the students of the divis
    • the overall division quality of education, include both academic and pastoral sides

Specific Responsibilities:

a. Supporting DL in the following areas:

  1. Foster a climate of high standards of professional conduct within the division
  2. Follow the overall mission, plans and requirements of the school to develop and implement division working plans
    effectively, including high quality meetings, events and activities for students, teachers and parents
  3. Establish and monitor annual division objectives, working plan, budget and management team
  4. Work together with Hods to lead FCs and monitor academic standards and ensure students’ learning is effective,
    and performance of teachers through observations, learning walks and review meetings
  5. Lead coordinators to monitor pastoral care quality and ensure students’ experience is positive
  6. Monitor the work of the division through the analysis of data and effective communication with the team
  7. Evaluate, select and recruit division staff members, including coordinators, teachers and tutors
  8. Support division staff members in developing their professional skills through trainings, mentoring and support
  9. Lead on Teaching Team Reviews (TTRs) to quality assure the Division’s Academic work.

b. Personal responsibilities

  1. Up to 8 contact periods for subject lessons, enrichment or form tutor work a week
  2. Division routine duties and handling individual student/parent’s special issues (academic & pastoral)
  3. Contribute and participate in school student summer camp,development weeks during winter & summer holiday
  4. Other tasks and responsibilities assigned by division leader

– Provide a complete and professional system for application consultation, including 3-4 year development plan, career planning and university application
– Support students and their parents with university related decisions

Qualifications:
